Noida Half marathon on Sept 9th, 2007

It was a pleasant surprise to find out that my own city will be having a half marathon, and that too just a couple of weeks from now! The last Noida half marathon was held in 2005, and was a very low key event, but hopefully, things will be better this time around with some big names like Unitech, Jaypee and ATS backing up the event.

The event is named Jaypee-Unitech Noida Half Marathon 2007 and is being promoted as a race against Global Warming and Ozone holes. The total prize is Rs 5,46,500. The event will take place on Noida- Greater Noida express way under pass near Sector 105 with the start and finish near the under pass.

Event website: http://noidamarathon.com/

Registration forms will be available from the Noida Half marathon office at C-2/25 Sector 31, Noida from Aug 26th.

Thanks Tanvir,
Now their website is a little bit more informative. Water at every 2.5 K is good. It is already 11.13pm and I dont know if you check this before start. Hope to see you on Noida roads. My chest no. is 89. I hope to finish within 2 hours.

it was a fine run for me, finishing 80th in 1.46 hr. I ran 25 min / 5.6 k on saturday evening, and 7 km run walk in the morning of race day. hope for less than 1.40 hr if ran afresh.

Arun, I am sure you will manage a 1:40 or better in HDHM 2007. And being 80th at 1:46 in Noida half marathon indicates that the quality of the field was pretty good. How many total participants as per your guess?

Hi, As per the announcer's commentary just at the START about 1000 runners were in 21k category.
